When you consider buy new vacuum thermoforming machine to produce cake tray, cake box, sushi box, fruit box, vegetable box, salad box with APET clear film ,RPET film ,PET Black film ,PET brown film .Then how to calculate the thickness for different products ?
Normal the machine supplier will give you mould drawing for each product.
If your box or tray is Square or rectangular ,then thickness = The weight /Length/Width /Density
If your box or tray is round ,then thickness=The weight/ Diameter/2/ Diameter/2/3.14/ Density .
So the importation thing is to know the weight of box or tray.
Current all of customer will choose use APET film ,RPET film instead of PVC clear film ,Because the price of APET film ,RPET Clear film is cheaper than PVC rigid film ,Also the rigidity also is higher than PVC glossy clear film , so The box is good and has a beautiful appearance. Also the transparency of PET transparent film is good.
Sure also should according to your end use to choose different material . If need heating sealing for tray ,if you use PET film ,then the surface should choose PET sealing film . If need high tempeture ,then you should consider CPET black film or CPET white film ,But you should have special vacuum forming machine to use CPET high tempeture film.
